이 행사는 CIO코리아 주최, 워카토(Workato)후원으로 진행됐다. 워카토는 2013년 미국에서 설립된 노코드/로우코드 기반의 업무 자동화 플랫폼 기업으로, 전 세계 1만 2,000여 개의 고객사를 보유하고 있으며, 최근에는 AI 기반 엔터프라이즈 오케스트레이션 플랫폼으로 진화해 국내에서도 10여 곳의 고객사를 확보하며 입지를 넓혀가고 있다. 이번 행사에서 첫 발표를 맡은 김영민 워카토 이사는 AI가 단독으로 작동하지 않는다는 점을 짚으며, AI는 단일 기술이 아닌 ‘연결’의 문제로 봐야 한다고 제안했다. 그는 “조직 내 다양한 시스템과 데이터가 유기적으로 연결되지 않은 상태에서 AI를 도입하면, 고립된 에이전트가 난립하고 결국 통합적 성과를 기대하기 어렵다”라고 설명했다. 김 이사는 이러한 문제를 해결할 개념으로 ‘엔터프라이즈 오케스트레이션’을 제시했다. 이는 기업 내 애플리케이션, 데이터베이스, 업무 프로세스를 하나의 흐름으로 통합해, AI가 전사적 맥락에서 실행력을 갖도록 돕는 접근 방식이다. 김영민 이사에 따르면 AI 도입이 지연되는 주된 원인은 데이터와 시스템의 통합 부재다. 그는 “각 부서가 AI 에이전트를 따로 도입하면, 결국 ‘데이터 사일로’가 아니라 ‘에이전트 사일로’가 생긴다”라며, “워크플로우 기반 오케스트레이션으로 애플리케이션, DB, LLM까지 유기적으로 연결해야 진짜 AI ROI가 나온다”라고 분석했다. 김 이사는 워카토의 차별점도 짚었다. 그는 “기존의 온프레미스 환경에 새로운 SaaS를 도입하는 기업들이 워카토 솔루션을 선택하는 경우가 많다”라며 “드래그앤드롭 방식으로 이용할 수 있어 기존 SI 방식의 연동보다 빠르고 유연하며, AI를 비롯한 다양한 SaaS와 레거시 시스템을 단일 플랫폼에서 연동할 수 있다”라고 소개했다. 두 번째 발표자로 나선 김진호 워카토 이사는 오케스트레이션을 구현한 실제 경험을 바탕으로 자사의 전략과 활용 방안을 설명했다. 과거 세일즈포스, 태블로 등 글로벌 SaaS 기업에서 20여 년간 근무한 그는 “통합과 연동은 많은 고객사가 고민하는 부분”라며 “워카토의 강점은 복잡한 연결을 ‘레고 블록 조립’처럼 단순화할 수 있다는 데 있다”라고 말했다. 김진호 이사는 워카토의 AI 전략을 네 가지 축으로 정리했다. 첫째, 코파일럿 기반의 워크플로우 생성 지원. 둘째, AI 기반 문서 자동 처리(IDP). 셋째, 에이전트 스튜디오를 통한 손쉬운 에이전트 생성. 넷째, 이들을 통합 관리하고 실행하는 엔터프라이즈급 서치·액션 시스템 ‘워카토 고(Go)’다. 특히 그는 워크플로우 자동화, AI 에이전트 빌딩, 시스템 통합을 포괄하는 ‘워카토 원’ 스위트를 소개하며, 이를 통해 사용자가 별도의 코딩 없이 에이전트를 신속하게 생성·실행·관리할 수 있는 환경을 구현할 수 있다고 강조했다. 또한 ‘워카토 고’를 활용한 사례를 공유하며, 고객사의 재무 정보, 직원 수, 소재지, 기존 솔루션 구매 이력 등을 통합 조회해 고객 미팅 준비 시간을 크게 줄였다고 밝혔다. 구체적인 고객 사례 소개도 이어졌다. 워카토의 기술을 활용해 보안 기업 센티넬원(SentinelOne)은 세일즈 견적 생성 과정을 자동화해 약 400시간의 업무 시간을 절감했으며, 전기 자재 유통 기업인 US 일렉트리컬 서비스(USESI)는 AI 챗봇을 ERP·CRM 시스템과 연계해 지점의 고객 경험을 개선했다. 또 다른 기업 엠플리튜드(Amplitude)는 IT 헬프데스크에 AI 에이전트를 적용해 월 3,500시간 이상의 작업 시간을 줄였다. 김진호 이사는 “고객 대부분이 AI에 대한 강한 의지를 가지고 있지만, 실제 적용은 쉽지 않다. 이유는 복잡한 연동과 보안·거버넌스 문제 때문”이라며 “워카토는 쉽고 빠른 구축, 유연한 확장성, 그리고 신뢰 기반의 AI 실행이라는 세 가지 가치를 통해 이를 극복할 수 있도록 돕는다”고 설명했다. 그는 “3~6개월 걸리는 프로젝트를 워카토를 이용하면 2~3주 만에 완성한 사례도 있을 만큼, 기술 도입 이후 운영 비용 절감과 KPI 달성 측면에서도 가시적인 성과가 나타나고 있다”고 덧붙였다. 국내 고객 사례와 관련해서는 온프레미스 환경과의 연동이 강조됐다. 김진호 이사는 “국내 10곳이 넘는 고객사 대부분이 온프레미스 시스템을 보유하고 있으며, 워카토는 이들과의 연동을 안정적으로 수행하고 있다”라며 “클라우드에서 태어난 플랫폼이지만, 대형 엔터프라이즈 고객들은 여전히 온프레 환경을 운영 중이다. 이를 위해 온프레미스 앞단에 ‘온프레임 에이전트’를 설치해 클라우드와 연결하고, 통합 자동화를 실현하고 있다”라고 설명했다. 발표 말미에서 김진호 이사는 워카토의 기능을 직접 체험할 수 있는 ‘개발자 샌드박스(Developer Sandbox)’를 소개하며 참석자들의 관심을 당부했다. 그는 “AI 에이전트 빌딩과 오케스트레이션을 무상으로 체험할 수 있도록 구성된 공간”이라며 “MCP, 스튜디오, 딥액션 등 워카토의 핵심 기능을 실제로 테스트해볼 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 것”이라고 설명했다. 해당 샌드박스에는 약 5만 건의 크레딧이 사전 탑재돼 있어 별도 비용 없이 바로 활용 가능하다. jihyun.lee@foundryco.com
