According to the most recent report by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the national average cost of diesel fuel at the start of this week was lower than the prior week, and all five regions also reported lower average prices. The national average price per gallong of diesel fuel in the U.S. decreased by nearly 5 cents as of June 30, 2025. The national average price of $3.73 is 8.6 cents lower than at the same time last year. This week, regional average prices decreased in all five regions. The decreases ranged from 1.5 cents in the East Coast region to nearly 7 cents in the Gulf Coast region. The averages for all five regions are still lower than at the same time last year. The most expensive place to buy diesel is Hawaii, at $5.26 per gallon, and the least costly is Texas, at $3.21 per gallon. The price per gallon also increased significantly in every region, two of which saw increases of more than 20 cents.
