Yhtiö on ollut oikeustoimien kohteena jo vuodesta 2024 asti muun muassa rästiin jääneiden velkojen vuoksi. Neta Auto on valmistanut lähinnä täyssähköautoja. Työntekijöiden mukaan palkkoja olisi jäänyt maksamatta viime vuoden marraskuusta lähtien. Silloin Neta Auto irtisanoi yli 2 900 työntekijäänsä eli lähes puolet työvoimastaan. Palkkoja ei ilmeisesti ole saatu maksettua edes ulosoton kautta, sillä yhtiöllä ei ole riittävästi ulosmitattavaa varallisuutta. Kiinalaisilla verkkosivuilla on videoita, joissa työntekijät pyrkivät työpaikoilleen vaatimaan saataviaan. Jo toukokuussa Shanghai Yuxing Advertising haki Neta Auton emoyhtiötä Hozon New Energyä konkurssiin noin 630 000 euron maksamattoman velan vuoksi. Neta Auto ilmoitti kuitenkin, että konkurssimenettelyä ei aloitettu ja toiminta jatkui normaalisti. LUE MYÖS Vain vähän päälle kymmenen vuotta sitten autonvalmistuksen aloittanutta Hozonia ja sen Neta-brändiä pidettiin aiemmin Kiinan sähköautoteollisuuden nousevana tähtenä, vaikkakin maan autoteollisuuden jättimäisessä mittakaavassa se on ollut varsin pieni valmistaja. Netan myynti romahti vuoden 2022 yhteensä 152 000 autosta 127 500:aan vuonna 2023 ja edelleen 64 500 kappaleeseen vuonna 2024. Tämän vuoden tammikuussa autoja toimitettiin vain 110. Kiinassa autonvalmistajien hintasota on jatkunut jo noin kolme vuotta. Tilanne kärjistyi toukokuun lopulla, kun autojätti BYD laski parinkymmenen mallinsa hintoja 10–30 prosenttia, kertoo norjalainen Motor.no . BYD:n varatoimitusjohtaja Stella Li onkin mukaan myöntänyt että kilpailu on kaikkea muuta kuin kestävällä pohjalla.
