From the (so far) to three new A24 films, there's a lot to look forward to over the next four weeks. The most anticipated release in July is Ryan Coogler's blockbuster hit Sinners . The supernatural thriller will begin streaming on HBO Max starting July 4. Michael B. Jordan stars as twin brothers, Smoke and Stack, who want to leave their troubled lives behind and return to their hometown — "only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back,” per the synopsis. As part of A24's ongoing streaming deal with Warner Bros., three more of the studio's films will be available on the platform this month. Subscribers can look forward to the acclaimed comedy-drama On Becoming a Guinea Fowl , the Ayo Edebiri-led psychological thriller Opus and the dark fantasy film starring Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd. The HBO Original Billy Joel documentary And So It Goes will also debut on the platform this month. The title showcases an “expansive portrait of the life and music of Billy Joel, exploring the love, loss, and personal struggles that fuel his songwriting,” according to the site. The film will be released in two parts: Part 1 drops on July 18, while Part 2 follows on July 25. HBO Max is also adding the entire Mortal Kombat franchise to the platform starting July 1. The drop comes ahead of the sequel, Mortal Kombat II , which is set to hit theaters on Oct. 24, 2025.
